In the world of disposable vapes, we are living in a golden age of creativity. If seems like every month or two, a new vape comes out with a revolutionary feature that no one has ever seen before. The Oxbar Ice-Nic is a perfect example of that. Adjustable vapes are all the rage these days, and you’ve probably used a vape that lets you toggle between two power levels by pressing a button or moving a switch. If you can imagine a disposable vape that stores two different types of e-liquid and lets you adjust the intensity of each one independently, that’s the basic premise behind the Oxbar Ice-Nic.

One of the best things about the Ice-Nic is how long it lasts. This device contains 14 ml of vape juice and is advertised to last up to 35,000 puffs. That should be enough to keep you vaping for about a week or even longer. That’s not all there is to it, though, because the design of the Ice-Nic makes it one of the most complex disposable vapes on the market.

So, how long does the Oxbar Ice-Nic last? Before we can really answer that question, it’s important for you to understand how the Ice-Nic works. That’s where we’ll begin.

How Does the Oxbar Ice-Nic Work?

An Oxbar vape is nothing if not unique, and the Ice-Nic is perhaps the most unique of them all because it allows to adjust two aspects of your experience – the ice level and the nicotine intensity – separately. To provide that feature, the Ice-Nic has two e-liquid chambers, each with its own coil. A larger chamber provides the main e-liquid supply, and a smaller secondary chamber contains just the menthol coolant. Pressing the button to adjust the Ice-Nic’s ice level or nicotine intensity changes the wattage of the corresponding coil, giving you more of that e-liquid.

It’s important to note that we said nicotine “intensity” above and not “strength.” Although the packaging seems to suggest otherwise, there’s actually no way to change the nicotine strength of the Oxbar Ice-Nic. The nicotine strength is always 50 mg/ml or 5%. Rather, when you press the nicotine button, you’re adjusting the wattage of that particular coil. That changes the volume of the vapor produced, which affects the amount of nicotine you inhale with each puff. Likewise, the ice button changes the amount of menthol that you inhale.

How Long Does the Oxbar Ice-Nic Last?

There are two ways to approach the question of how long the Oxbar Ice-Nic lasts. You can think about it in terms of the number of puffs, or you can think about it in terms of how many days you can use the device before it runs out of vape juice.

If you want to compare different brands of disposable vapes, it’s important to understand that looking at the puff counts on the boxes isn’t actually very useful. The advertised puff counts have grown greatly over the past year or so, but the e-liquid capacities haven’t grown at the same rate.

The Oxbar Ice-Nic contains 14 ml of vape juice. That’s a generous amount, but you can find vapes that contain more e-liquid and are advertised to last significantly fewer puffs. Some manufacturers exaggerate a bit when deciding what puff counts to put on their devices’ boxes, and Oxbar is definitely one of those brands.

With that in mind, the most useful way to compare different vapes is by looking at how much vape juice they have. It’s normal to use anywhere from about 1-2 ml of e-liquid in a full day of vaping, which means that you can expect the Oxbar Ice-Nic to last at least a week and perhaps as long as two weeks.

How Do I Know When the Oxbar Ice-Nic Is Empty?

The Oxbar Ice-Nic has a separate meter for each of its two e-liquid chambers to let you know when the main and ice e-liquid supplies are running low. You should only think of the meters as general guidelines, though, and not as exact representations of the amount of e-liquid in your device. When the meters reach zero, you still have a bit of time – especially if you haven’t noticed a change in your device’s flavor yet.

When your Ice-Nic is running low on vape juice, you’ll notice a sharp drop in the intensity of the flavor. This means that the main e-liquid chamber is almost dry. When your device reaches this point, you need to make sure that you have a new one ready to go. If not, it’s time to visit a vape shop right away. When the Ice-Nic is completely empty, you’ll taste a very unpleasant burnt flavor each time you hit it. At that point, you can be completely certain that you’re not going to get any more puffs out of it.

Can I Use the Ice E-Liquid on Its Own?

No; the ice e-liquid in the Oxbar Ice-Nic isn’t useful on its own. It contains no nicotine and is only meant to be used as an additive for the main e-liquid. Also, there’s no way to disable the coil in the Ice-Nic’s main e-liquid chamber. If you try to use the ice e-liquid after the main e-liquid is gone, the flavor will be burnt and unpleasant, and you won’t get any nicotine.

What if the Oxbar Ice-Nic Isn’t Lasting Long Enough?

You might have looked for information about how long the Oxbar Ice-Nic lasts because you know that you’re not getting anywhere near 35,000 puffs out of your devices before they run out of e-liquid. If that’s the case, now you know why – because it’s very unlikely that you’ll ever get 35,000 puffs out of a vape with 14 ml of juice. There’s no reason why you shouldn’t be able to use the Ice-Nic for at least a week, though, and you should think about how often you’re vaping if that’s not happening.

Are you sure that you’re only using the Ice-Nic when you need the nicotine, or are you vaping constantly because you like the flavor? Try putting the Ice-Nic down between vaping sessions and waiting a bit longer before picking it back up again. If you vape only as often as you would have smoked a cigarette, you’ll get many days of use out of the Ice-Nic.
