Online poker in New Jersey: legal status and shared liquidity

New Jersey legalizes and regulates online poker through the DGE. The state has joined the multi-state Internet gaming agreement (MSIGA), which allows operators to pool players. According to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, Pennsylvania is confirmed to be a member of MSIGA (2025). Player pooling has real, visible effects. BetMGM connected Pennsylvania to New Jersey and Michigan back in April 2025. In addition, industry reports state that WSOP now mixes players from NJ, PA, NV and MI. As a result, there are larger tournament guarantees and a wider selection of games for Garden State players. Always check the pool status in your client’s lobby or in operator notices because the networks may change the schedule and/or eligibility.

Note on offshore sites: You may see other mentions of SportsBetting Poker and other offshore or crypto poker rooms. As many of the big poker sites are blocked or restricted in certain states, SportsBetting Poker and some other offshore sites continue accepting U.S. players. These poker sites offer a full real money poker ecosystem with cash games, tourneys, and more.

Events & Seasonal Highlights

Tournament schedules come and go with the season, but Atlantic City keeps getting big events. The Borgata Fall Poker Open returned in November 2025 with more than $3 million guaranteed and a $2,700 Championship (Nov. 4–17). The Bar Poker Open recently scheduled its Atlantic City Championship at Borgata in mid-November as the property remains the key anchor venue in the region.

The WSOP Circuit stop (Aug. 14–25, 2025) at Harrah’s welcomed back ring events and significant fields to the Marina District. This venue is useful for professionals but also for recreational players looking for MTTs with a national brand. The dates for the series and event list may change, so check the official page for the casino or tour.
